In this pastoral scene, Coetzer places cattle at the drift beneath the dramatic mountain ranges of the Drakensberg. A row of thatched rondawels runs diagonally across the right of the composition, while the women to the left quietly oversee the animals, grounding the scene in the rhythms of rural life.
